About our York Weekend

For this year's festival, we have two fantastic venues right in the heart of the historic city of York. The Yorkshire Museum is in the centre of the city and is surrounded by the beautiful York Museum Gardens. It has been open since 1980 and was originally one of the first purpose-built museums in England. Boasting a recent £2 million refurbishment, the museum is a must-see York attraction.

We will be taking over the Tempest Anderson Hall in the museum which is just to the side of the main entrance. We will also be hosting talks in the stunning Hospitium building for the entire weekend which is just a short stroll through the gardens from the main museum.

At this fascinating weekend event, you'll be able to listen to talks given by 26 of the world's top historians covering a range of subjects. Plus there will be a Waterstones bookshop and speaker book signings.
